SPEAK OUT!®

A two-part, highly effective national speech therapy program developed by the Parkinson Voice Project.

Sonos Neurotherapies is pleased to offer a two-part speech therapy program to help individuals with Parkinson’s regain and maintain effective communication: SPEAK OUT!® followed by The LOUD Crowd®.

SPEAK OUT! is a highly effective national speech therapy program developed by the Parkinson Voice Project. SPEAK OUT! is the first step in Parkinson Voice Project’s two-part therapy approach that addresses the motor speech deficits that accompany Parkinson’s.

Based on the teachings of Daniel R. Boone, PhD, CCC-SLP, a world-renowned speech-language pathologist and voice expert, this program will teach those affected by Parkinson’s to teach with intent while also strengthening muscles used for speaking and swallowing.

Participants will complete twelve individual sessions with one of Sonos Neurotherapies speech therapists. Together you will work through a series of speech, voice, and cognitive exercises outlined in a workbook provided to every client.

Once clients complete SPEAK OUT!, they transition to the second part of the Parkinson Voice Project’s program called The LOUD Crowd. This maintenance program consists of weekly group sessions led by a speech-language pathologist. The SPEAK OUT! exercises are performed, and group members provide support, encouragement, and accountability to one another.

Participation in The LOUD Crowd®, along with daily home practice and six-month evaluations, has been shown to help clients maintain their communication skills throughout the progression of Parkinson’s. For more information about SPEAK OUT® and The LOUD Crowd® or to schedule a speech evaluation, please call (541) 604-8255 or email contact@sonosbend.com.
